The True North Ministry Mentoring Initiative
Dear Prospective Mentor,
We are so pleased to see that you are interested in participating in our youth mentoring initiative. This decision will allow you to engage a young man or woman currently incarcerated with the Ohio Department of Youth Services (DYS) and show him or her love, compassion, and most importantly, the face of Christ. You will be able to provide a steady, encouraging adult presence that so many of these young men and women lack in their lives. Your decision to become a mentor can make a substantial difference in the lives of our youth. You have the power to shape and mold some of most at-risk youth in our region into the leaders of tomorrow
We want to bring on every eligible person interested in mentoring. To be eligible there are some requirements you must meet. They are as follows:
- Must be at least 18 years old and mature enough to manage the responsibility assigned
- Not currently under supervision (probation or parole)
- Not a sex offender
- If you have been found guilty of any of these crimes, your application requires special review before you can be a volunteer.
If you meet these requirements please register for our next training class below. We will contact you to confirm your attendance. We would also ask that you fill our our volunteer application and bring it in with you. We hope to see you soon. We know you will be a great source of joy and peace for all of the youth we mentor. Take care and God Bless.
Sincerely,
True North Ministry
