About Us

True North Ministry exists to liberate imprisoned youth. Our focus is the young men and women incarcerated in or paroled through the State of Ohio Juvenile Correctional Facilities and/or surrounding county detention centers. We seek to spirititually unshackle the hearts of young people, however, we never require a commitment to our belief system as a condition for program partticipation or relationship. Currently, 140 volunteer missionaries mentor and equip over 2,200 imprisoned youth a year with Christ-centered, Bibilical programming.

In 2007, True North Ministry moved their headquarters to Green, Ohio, a small suburb of Akron in Summit County. A local property owner made a generous offer to us to use her 30 acres, providing office space, training areas, a softball field, a fishing lake and Victory Acres, a small miniature donkey farm. We named our remote, farm-like setting the COMPASS Center – Community Outreach Mission Providing Adolescense Skills & Services.
